For Christmas, she asked for new hiking boots and Santa delivered. He was very generous this year and included new hiking clothes plus a water bottle. Since Christmas, it has been sweltering.  Today, however, she woke up to cloudy weather with a cool breeze. She grabbed the opportunity to go for a hike with her family. She felt like a little child playing dress-up in her new big boots. She looked the part but didn't feel the part. She felt very unfit on this easy to moderate walk. It has been two months since her last hike, and she felt every extra mouthful of Christmas food as she walked the trail.

But she made it and celebrated with a sushi lunch and a soy latte.  Her daughter said, " A new year, a new you!"

She hopes so! She really hopes so!
