Moments that Matter March/Lifestyle photography

This month, I had some random thoughts about my personality and how it affects my art. I have noticed how I am drawn to calm moments, moments that are quiet. I feel a bubble of contentment when I see peace in my day. I think it has much to do with a chaotic home and five kids who are noisy and vivacious. They are busy and messy and unorganised. Yet, I often hear how calm they look in my images. I capture their busyness but I don't always share it. I share the moments that are important to me, the moments that move my soul. I think it is part of my introverted personality. I am an observer, a listener. I recharge by being alone and when I see my children enjoying the quiet, well I need to run and grab the camera. I think my photography reflects my desire for alone time and these moments that I collect like seashells at the beach help me to recharge. They help me to reconnect with myself. I am filling my bucket with calm.

Like I said at the beginning, these are some random thoughts about my art. I have no idea if they are true but I thought I would share none the less. Now pop on over to see any random thoughts about the moments that matter to Polly. She is joining us for the first, and you can see her story here.
