family photography sydney - 1st anniversary in Sydney

This sweet couple arrived from Florida to celebrate their first anniversary. They had a jam-packed schedule of tourist activities and also managed to squeeze in a portrait session. They wanted to capture this moment with natural photos that tells the story of how they are today. They have plans for a family, a farm, and many animals….if James gets his way. But that is tomorrow, and they wanted to enjoy today.

We meet at Sydney Observatory Park on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. It was a little windy, but the sun was shining. Sydney Harbour was in the background; glistening in all its splendour. This is a gorgeous spot at any time of day but especially at sunset.

As the sun got lower, I noticed the jet lag kick in. The time difference is 14hours between Miami and Sydney and rather than capture tack sharp images, I decided to freelens. Freelensing is detaching the lens, and it creates a beautiful blur. It reveals emotions and connections in images. And this is what I see with these images; a beautiful love story that is just starting to blossom.
